What's in a name...?
ILA (pronounced 'illa') means ‘the earth’ in sanskrit (indian) while AVA means ‘the living one’ in latin. This signifies the fusion of the East and West while acknowledging our strong connection to mother nature, to produce this conscious skincare with all the benefits. ILA + AVA = the earth and the living one.

Founded in 2012, ILA + AVA is a handmade Australian botanical skin care range, created and made in Noosa, on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, by Miriam Drescher, a Dr of Chinese Medicine. Harnessing the power of plants, these luxe minimalist products are designed to help highlight our natural beauty, promote selfcare and make clean skincare simple, while supporting conscious living.
Vegan, Cruelty Free + only plants!
With big love and respect for our environment, big blue planet and all creatures great and small, ILA + AVA uses only plant derived, high quality and minimally interfered with ingredients. The range is 100% vegan, does not contain any animal products and absolutely does not condone animal testing of ANY of the ingredients used or for the finished products.
Glass and natural packaging + Ocean Safe
The packaging is kept to a minimum, with glass chosen as the main component for its true recycling properties, while hemp and bamboo are used for their amazing natural qualities and environmentally sustainable benefits. All products are ocean safe, remember that what we put on our skin also gets washed into our waters. Minimal compostable and recyclable packaging is used for online shipped orders.

"I have designed the ILA + AVA range for all skin types and all ages, with each of the face products having several ways to use, depending on your needs . With focus on enhancing our natural beauty, the unique formulations, based on ancient plant knowledge combined with modern scientific findings, encourage the skin to function as nature intended, helping to 'balance' the skin and assist in repair and rejuvenation. With a minimalist approach to natural skincare, I have created a simple yet effective daily routine to help promote healthy glowing skin. The products are quick and easy and contain only high quality ingredients, making clean skincare simple with all the benefits."
"The first visions for ILA + AVA started in 2012. A childhood influenced by herbal medicine from my fathers passionate work, my own professional background as a herbalist and Dr of Chinese Medicine, worldly travels learning about natural therapies and yoga, combined with my love of nature and animals set the momentum. My personal search for high quality, pure and natural skincare with awareness of important environmental and animal welfare issues encouraged me to create my own products. The more I researched other brands and ingredients the stronger I saw the need for ILA + AVA. Countless trials, testing, hours of thinking, researching and envisaging has led me to create this skin care range that fulfills the five facets I believe are important for any products we put on our skin: products that look great, feel great, are great, do great and smell great."
